Abstract
This paper introduced four types of buoys with streamlined bodies of revolution,of which the shape profiles of buoys were represented by a table of offsets,the analytic expressions of mathematical formulation were given,and every one of the expressions was able to fit a given shape with a good result.The designed buoy with parallel body,i.e.half ball + cylinder + run body with streamlined body of revolution,was made through theoretical calculations and systematic experiments.Experiments including towing tank test,structural test and towing test were carried out in lake,and the experimental data are very useful for design of buoy.
