Abstract

This paper propose a directional ocean movement monitoring buoy which is used to obtain the parameters of marine meteorology, hydrology, water quality, ecology and motivation. The modern ocean data buoys, whose design are based on the type of Butterfly buoy and Column buoy causes the buoy to produce more severe pitching when subjected to wave conditions. This effect has a serious impact on the buoy safety and service performance. In order to avoid this situation and ensure the buoy pitching angle of directional movement no more than 15°, the design of the buoy structure is optimized. When compared; the AQWA simulation results with the model experiment results, the amplitude-frequency response characteristics of the buoy under the wave is analyzed, which proves the design of the buoy structure is acceptable and suitable for the condition.
