Analysis of Outpatient Pediatric Prescriptions

Objective To reviewed and evaluated the pediatric outpatient prescriptions in the hospital,so as to promote the reasonable and normative use of prescription drugs.Methods A total of 1 200 pediatric outpatient prescriptions were sampled randomly from October 2011 to March 2012(i.e.200 monthly) and analyzed statistically.Results In all 1 200 prescriptions,antibiotics were used in 518,accounting for 43.17%.There were 219 unreasonable prescriptions,accounting for 18.25%.While there were non-standard prescriptions 148,accounting for 67.58% of all unreasonable prescriptions;inappropriate medication prescriptions 91,accounting for 41.55%.Conclusion The outpatient pediatric prescriptions in the hospital are basically rational,but the antibiotics application rate is higher.It is urgent to strengthen management in hospital by taking intervention measures such as prescription evaluation in order to make the pediatric outpatient prescriptions reasonable and normative.
