Abstract

Barreled experiments were carried out to study the effects of different degree and period of water stress on the yield and quality of winter wheat at the jointing and filling stage, and the correlativity between yield and quality was analyzed. The result showed that drought at the late filling stage increased the quality of grains obviously, and the contradiction between high yield and high quality was not obvious when the protein content of grain was 14% to 16%.Various water stresses at the jointing stage and the filling stage of winter wheat caused the yield to decrease, and the heavier the water stress was,the more the yield decreased. The number of fertile spike per barrel, grain number per spike and grain yield were heavily affected when drought occurred at jointing stage, and 1000-grain weight was most sensitive to the water stress at filling stage. The effects of water stress at the late jointing stage and the late filling stage on the yield and its component factor was less than that of water stress at the early stages.Under 55% to 70% of relative soil moister at the filling stage, the harmonious unification of high yield, water saving and high quality can be promoted.
