Abstract
After Xinjiang was re-unified,the Qing Dynasty Government dispatched from inland provinces Manchurian soldiers to station in Xinjiang,mainly in Ili, Urumqi,Balikun,and so on,altogether 40-odd Manchu cities.The establishment of these cities helped to consolidate the unification in Xinjiang,to govern over Xinjiang,to maintain social stability in Xinjiang,and strengthen frontier defense in west China.
