Abstract
In the Qing Dynasty,a large number of people of Han nationality moved into Xinjiang province from the inner parts of mainland under the official organization or by spontaneous migration or by banishment for political,economic,and other causes.They were mainly distributed in northern areas of Xinjiang and they played a vital role in maintaining regional stability and promoting social and economic development in Xinjiang.
