Abstract
The production of ethanol by fermentation with uncooked corn is presented. Through experiments under different conditions, the optimal technological conditions were obtained: cassava particle size below 0.45 mm, ratio of corn to water at 1∶2.0, glucoamylase、a-amylase and acid proteinase being 250 U/g、5 U/g and 10 U/g respectively。The ethanol content of fermented broth reached 16.6%vol and the starch utilization rate got 92.7% at this conditions. It is found that the content of reducing sugar kept in low lever in the fermenting process, which has the advantage of avoiding being infected by bacteria. The experiments also show that the technology of fermentation with uncooked corn is simpler than the traditional technology, and can get higher conversion ratio of material and volume fraction of ethanol.
