On the "Truth" of Zheng Banqiao's Poems

Zhang Weiping, a critic in Qing Dynasty, made comments on Zheng Banqiao's poems with truths (i.e. feelings, and interest). This paper will further probe into the truth of Zheng Banqiao's poems respectively from three aspects: True feelings mean the real tempers in the poems; true meanings are the contents of the poems; and true interest is the natural demonstration of his poems' expression. The reasons are all because the poet had inherited the good tradition of realism of our country from ancient times and personally witnessed the miseries of the people.
