Abstract
Objective To discuss the influences of Qishen Granules combining exercise therapy on cardiac function and left ventricular remodeling in rats with heart failure. Methods The model of heart failure induced by acute myocardial infarction was established by using thread approach of left anterior descending coronary artery(LAD) in Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats. Then the rats were randomly divided into model group,Qishen Granules treatment group(Qishen Granules group),Qishen Granules combining exercise therapy group(combining group) and exercise therapy group(exercise group) 5 weeks after operation, which were given relevant treatment. At the end of 8th week after operation, cardiac functions were detected by using echocardiogram and cardiac histomorphological changes were observed in all groups. Results Left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) decreased significantly, left ventricular end-diastolic dimension(LVEDD) and LVEDs increased significantly(P0.01),LVFS shortened significantly(P0.01),left ventricular weight index, heart weight index, and left ventricular perimeter and area increased significantly(P0.01) in model group compared with those in shamoperation group. The pathological characteristics of left ventricular remodeling in model group were remarkable.LVEF,LVEDs and other indexes decreased significantly(P0.05,P0.01),left ventricular perimeter and area decreased significantly(P0.01) in Qishen Granules group and combing group compared with those in model group. The pathological changes were alleviated in Qishen Granules group and combing group. Conclusion Qishen Granules combining exercise therapy can improve cardiac functions and postpone the formation and development of left ventricular remodeling in rats with heart failure induced by acute myocardial infarction.
