Competitiveness of agricultural products trade between China and Australia

A great achievement on economic and trade cooperation has got in 40 years,since China and Australia established the diplomatic relations.Both of China and Australia are the large agricultural producers and the powerful agricultural products trade countries,had the rapid development in the field of trade in agricultural products.Firstly,this paper described the basic situation,characteristics and structure of agri-products trade between China and Australia.Secondly,the paper analyzed the competitiveness of the agricultural trade between China and Australia by the theories of Trade Specialization Coefficient and Export Similarity Index.And the result showed that the complementarity was more stronger than the competitiveness.Therefore,China should strengthen communication and cooperation in agricultural trade with Australia to promote the development of China's export.At last,this paper recommended the way of improving the overall competitiveness of agricultural products in China to increase the export to Australian.
