Abstract
Objective The study was conducted to evaluate the performance of the first round of the tuberculosis control project in Taiyuan in the first three years. Methods Quarter statements andchecks were collected for analysis. Results A total of 2094 smear - positive cases of pulmonary tuberculosis were found in the first three years of the first round. The average new registration rate ofsmear- positive patients had increased to 27.58/lakh from 4.31/lakh before the project was implemented.And the average cure rate of smear- positive patients had risen to 93.20% from previously 63.80%. Theloss rate dropped to 0.50% from 12.90%. Conclusion The tuberculosis control project in Taiyuan has already achieved positive results. The discovery and cure rates of smear- positive tuberculosis patients have been increased, which are contributed by the administrative intervention, promotion of tuberculosis prevention and the implementation of DOTS strategies.
