Abstract
The type and the amount of the non-metallic inclusions in 304 stainless steel ingot were investigated, with a tracer used to find out the origin of inclusion. The results show that most of the micro inclusions are Al2O3-SiO2-CaO system inclusions, the micro inclusions(5 μm) coexit amount of MgO-Al2O3 spinel inclusions;the macro inclusion is main to have two types of compound admixture, respectively is the type of Al2O3-SiO2-CaO,the type of Al2O3-SiO2;one of the main source of the non-matallic inclusions is the slag for the refractory corrosion in the molten steel during tapping;ladle lining affects slightly.
