Abstract

OBJECTIVE To make effective measures to prevent and control the urinary tract infection by learning the condition of the urinary tract infection.METHODS A total of 10 241 patients from Jan 2008 to Dec 2009 were monitored prospectively and investigated retrospectively. The urinary tract infection,as well as related factors were observed in patients.RESULTS There were 96 cases of the urinary tract infection among 318 cases of hospital infection, accounting for 30.19%,which was the second of the infection site.Infection occurred mainly in the department of orthopedics(3.08%),and then the Endocrinology department(2.57%).The occurrence of the urinary tract infection is related to age, sex, basic diseases, time of catheter and the usage of antibiosis medicine. The pathogenic bacteria of the urinary tract infection was mainly the G-bacillus,accounting for 32.65%,and then the fungus, accounting for 16.33%.CONCLUSION In order to reduce incidence, the patients from the departments which are sensitive to the urinary tract infection should be monitored and elderly patients should be paid more attention to and the correlative intervention measures should be made according to susceptible factors.
