Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of mouse nerve growth factor combined with alpha-lipoic acid for diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DNP).Methods Eighty-six DPN patients were randomly divided into two groups: observation group(n=44,treated with mouse nerve growth factor and alpha-lipoic acid) and control group(n=42,treated with alpha-lipoic acid). All patients were treated for 3 weeks. Then the changes of clinical efficacy and nerve conduction velocities of medial nerve and common peroneal nerve were observed and analyzed in two groups before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate was 81.82% in observation group and 69.05% in control group, and there was significant difference(P0.05).After treatment, the conduction velocities of medial nerve and common peroneal nerve in two groups obviously increased(P0.05),and they were higher in observation group than in control group(P0.05).No obvious side effects were found in two groups. Conclusion The mouse nerve growth factor combined with alpha-lipoic acid is better than alpha-lipoic acid for DPN,and would be an ideal therapeutic way.
