Abstract

Objective To investigate the changes in the serum levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), creatine kinase MB isoenzyme (CK-MB) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) at acute exacerbation, and to analyze their clinical significance. Methods The serum levels of CRP, CK-MB, LDH and PaO2 were measured in 60 patients with COPD at acute exacerbation (the study group) and 45 healthy subjects (the control group). Results The serum levels of CRP, CK-MB, and LDH in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P0.05). In the study group, positive correlation was found between CRP and CK-MB, LDH, as well as between CK-MB and LDH (P0.01), while negative correlation was found between PaO2 and CRP, CK-MB, LDH (P0.01). Conclusion Combined detection of serum CRP, CK-MB and LDH can provide reliable indicators for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of COPD.
