Popular culture and refined culture are opposite yet dependent upon each other. Popular culture has its own characteristics and bears certain social responsibilities. With its particular content and representational approach, popular culture gradually develops its own vivid artistic characteristics and aesthetic taste. Popular culture has a certain positive social significance as well as shortcoming and negative function. Therefore, it is an important task to guide popular culture to a right direction.
