Abstract
With the further development of popular culture,merits and limitations ofNew Leftparadigm of popular culture study that formed in the 1990's are increasingly obvious.In short,there are fatal criticism on the ideology of popular culture and its cultural logic of capitalization,which is its merits.Its main limitation is that it was never differentiate and analyzes popular culture in specific and contextualized manner,the nature and function of popular culture can not be viewed positively therefore. the values problem of the current popular culture studies are affect by it to some extent. it is necessary to reexamine new leftparadigm of popular culture study. It also has the significance to contemporary literary theory construction and development which is still in transition.
