Abstract
Dai Wangshu is taken as a representative symbolist poet in China in the 20th century. At a time when new ideas and issues emerged continuously, his choice of symbolism was not only from his focus on the form, but also deeply involved in his psychological demand. However,Dai converted to Spanish modernism instead of exploring his symbolism writing when he was in France. This paper examines the double outmoded poet to regain a understanding of the complexity of China and the subject consciousness of Dai Wangshu.
