Abstract
The faunal analysis was made on 64 species of butterflies in the scenic area of Maijishan.The results showed that the butterflies were mainly Palaearctic species(31 species),occupying 48.4% of total species.There were 13 Oriental species,occupying 20.3%;There were 10 Oriental-Palaearctic common species,occupying 15.6%.And 10 widely-distributed species occupied 15.6% of total species.Eight species of butterflies were new records in Gansu Province.Bhutanitis thaidina belonged to be national II class protected species.
