Abstract
The faunal analysis based on the 150 species of butterflies from Xiaokeng National Forest Park,Guangdong Province, showed that the butterflies in this national forest park characterized Oriental Realm. There were 99 Oriental species distributed in this fauna, occupying 66% of the total;20 Palaearctic species, occupying 13.3%;30 Oriental-Palaearctic species, occupying 20%.The vertical distribution in the area suggests that the Oriental species gradually decrease in abundance with increasing of elevation but palaearctic species increase and the suggestion for protection and sustainable utilization of butterfly resources were pointed out.
