Abstract
Objective To investigate the accuracy of diagnosis and classification of supraventricular tachycardia(SVT)by esophageal electrophysiology. Methods Results of esophageal electrophysiology and intracardiac electrophysiology in 192 patients with SVT were compared. Results Diagnosis of dual atrioventricular nodal pathway(DAVNP),atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia(AVNRT),left accessory pathway(LAP) and right accessory pathway(RAP) as well as orthodromic atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia(OAVRT) were no significant difference between these two electrophysiology study;but diagnostic rate of septal AP(SAP) mediated AVRT and atrial tachycardia(AT) by esophageal electrophysiology were lower than that by intracardiac electrophysiology. Conclusion Esophageal electrophysilolgy has the similar accuracy of diagnosis and classification of common SVT to intracardiac electrophysiology, and has advantages of noninvasiveness, simplicity and low cost, etc.
