Abstract
Objective To explore the changes and clinical significance of serum soluble CD14(sCD14) and hypersensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) levels in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD). Methods This study consisted of 120 patients with CHD who were evenly divided into three groups: acute myocardial infarction(AMI),stable angina pectoris(SAP),and unstable angina pectoris(UAP),and 40 healthy subjects servers as controls. The serum sCD14 was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),and serum hs-CRP by scatter velocity turbidimetry. Results The serum level of sCD14 in the CHD patients was higher than that of the control group(t′=15.75,P0.01).The difference in serum sCD14 between the patients and the controls was significant(F=132.94,q=9.70-27.58,P0.01),a significant difference was also showed between AMI,UAP and SAP(q=5.86-17.88,P0.01),AMI being mostly increased. The serum hs-CRP in CHD patients was higher than that of the control group(t′=10.68,P0.01),and the AMI and UAP patients were higher than the groups of SAP and controls(F=80.25,q=5.91-20.11,P0.01),and the AMI patients in particular. Conclusion The elevated serum levels of sCD14 and hs-CRP are closely associated with CHD,which might be used to predict the the degree of coronary artery lesion.
