Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy for ureteral stones. Methods The clinical data of 536 cases of ureteral calculi treated via ureteroscope with holmium laser lithotripsy were analyzed retrospectively. The size of the stones were 0.5-2.0 cm in diameter.Of them 113 cases had ureteral polyp and they were underwent holmium laser vaporization resection of the polyp.Double J tube was placed after operation for 2-6 weesks. Results The overall stone fragmentation rate was 91.6%(491/536) with a single procedure. The operating time was 15-75 min with a mean of 32min.The stone free rate in one-week postoperation was 72.5%(356/491).Postoperative hospitalstay was 1 d-4 d with a mean of 2.5 d.Conclusions Holmium laser lithotripsy via ureteroscope is an effective and safe treatment option for ureteral calculi.
