Abstract
Objective: To investigate the feasibility of tracheal intubation without muscle relaxant after fast induction of anesthesia with propofol and remifentanil. Methods: 42 ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients, were divided into 3 groups(14 patients per group). Group PR2 was induced with propofol 2 mg/kg,remifentanil 2 ug/kg;Group PR4 was induced with propofol 2 mg/kg and remifentanil 4 ug/kg; Group PR8 was induced with propofol 2 mg/kg and remifentanil 8 ug/kg. MBP and HR were monitored during induction and intubation. The results of tracheal intubation were graded. Results: Among 3 groups, the intubation grade of group PR8 was best, but MBP and HR were significantly decreased after induction in group PR8. There was one patient bucking in group PR4;There were lack of lower mandible loosening and bucking among 5 patients of group PR2. Conclusion: Fast induction with propofol 2 mg/kg and remifentanil 4~8 μg/kg might safely provide satisfactory tracheal intubation conditions without muscle relaxant.
