Abstract
Using the methods of correlation analysis and canonical correlation analysis, the relationships between physiochemical characteristics of tobacco planting soil and chemical compositions of tobacco leaf in Youyang Cangling Base of China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Co., Ltd. were studied. The results showed that the pH value of tobacco planting soil in the base was generally appropriate, the available phosphor was relatively lacking, the contents of available potassium, available nitrogen and organic matter were at middle level, and the content of water-soluble chloride was relatively low. The correlation analysis results showed that the soil pH value was positively correlated with the content of reducing sugar in tobacco leaf, but negatively correlated with the content of total nitrogen in tobacco leaf; the content of available phosphorus in soil was negatively correlated with the nicotine content in tobacco leaf; the contents of available phosphorus and available nitrogen in soil were signifi cantly positively correlated with the ratio of nitrogen to nicotine in tobacco leaf. Canonical correlation analysis results showed that the effects of soil physiochemical characteristics on chemical compositions of tobacco leaf was in a order of pH value available phosphor organic matters available potassium available nitrogen water-soluble chlorine; the contents of available potassium and organic matters mainly influenced the sugar content in tobacco leaf, in which the content of available potassium in soil was beneficial to accumulation of reducing sugar in tobacco leaf, but disbenefit for accumulation of total sugar; the effects of the content of organic matters in soil on the sugar content in tobacco leaf were opposite to the effects of the content of available potassium on that.
