Effect of Health Education on Primary Hypertensive Patients

Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of health education on primary hypertensive patients. Methods 50 primary hypertensive patients were randomly divided into the health education group and control group. The control group received routine care, while the health education group received the all-round way health education. Follow-up investigations were taken six months after discharge by the responsibility nurse of each patient. Results The differences of the realization of hypertension knowledge, medications, and blood pressure control between the health education group and control group were significant (P 0.05). Conclusions Primary hypertension treatment should focus on the propaganda of knowledge, high blood pressure healthy lifestyle, reasonable diet and health education and complementary with drugs, which have important significance in reduction of complications and improvement of the quality of life.
