Clinical Study of the Effect of Tongxinluo Capsule on the Carotid Atherosclerotic Plaque

Objective To observe the effects of Tongxinluo capsule on the plaque in the carotid athero-sclerotic plaque.Methods 80 patients according to the admissive standard were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group,40 cases in each group.The patients in control group were treated by routine therapy,while the patients in treatment group,based on the routine therapy,were treated by Tongxinluo capsule,three times a day,with a treatment course of six months for both groups.After three and six months,color Doppler ultrasound was used to examine the plaque′s number,integral meanwhile blood glucose and the incidence of adverse events were recorded.Results After treated,There were significant differences in plaque′ integral and number between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Tongxinluo capsule could intervene effectively the development of the plaque in the carotid atherosclerotic plaque,and reduce the incidence of cerebrovascular diseases and cardiovascular diseases.
