Analysis on prevalence trends of injury surveillance in Ding' an County of Hainan Province,2006-2010

Objective To analyze injury surveillance trends in Ding' an County of Hainan Province in 2006-2010.Methods Injured patients in 2006-2010 were surveyed with descriptive analysis by using injury surveillance system.Results The number of injury cases was 17 638 in 2006-2010,male 11 812 and female 5826,sex ratio was 2.03∶ 1.The top three major causes of injury were fall/falling,injuries caused by animals and blunt injury.The education levels of most cases were junior high school.Most of cases were people who did housework,farm work,animal husbandry,fisher industry or students.The injury rate of preschool children was the highest in 2010.Injuries were often occurred at home and road/street(%).Most of injury cases were unintentional injury.The rates of intentional injury caused by violence and attack was decreasing in 2006-2010(16.47%,11.33%,5.80%,4.03%,and 3.78%,respectively).Conclusion The case numbers of injury reported were stabled in 2007-2010.The main three causes of injury were fall/falling,injuries caused by animals and blunt injury.Targeted measurements should be carried out in different population based on their characteristics.
