Abstract
Objective To investigate the efficacy of parenteral nutrition and early enteral nutrition in patients with gastric carcinoma after total gastrectomy. Methods 46 patients after total gastrectomy were randomly divided into two groups,23 patients supplied with parenteral nutrition(PN group),23 patients supplied with early enteral nutrition(EN group). The change of total protein, albumin and transferring before operation and postoperative day 1,5 and 9,nitrogen balance before operation and postoperative day 9,bowel movement restoring time and the percentage of positive CD3,CD4,CD8 cell,CD4/CD8 ratio and CRP before operation and postoperative day 1,5 and 9 were compared. Results There was no significant difference between two groups in improving state of patient’s nutrition(P0.05),but early enteral nutrition could improve gastrointestinal function and immune function(P0.05). Conclusion Early enteral nutrition is more efficient than parenteral nutrition after total gastrectomy.
