Abstract

Urban land intensive use is of great necessity for the development of a city. From the regional spatial perspective, this paper has established an index system and calculated the urban land intensive use of 13 cities in Jiangsu Province by means of principal component analysis. The result of the calculation is graded by GIS. Findings show that urban land use in the South of Jiangsu Province is more intensive than that in the central and northern areas , that urban land use is of a stepping distribution, and that urban land use is in positive correlation with the economic development. This paper has also put forward some advice on urban land intensive use in Jiangsu Province.
