Abstract

Objecive To investigate the clinical effect of mere post mandible incision in lower parotid gland tumor resection on elderly patients. Methods A total of 80 patients with lower parotid tumor from Jining First People's Hospital during Jan. 2010 and Oct. 2013 were included in the study, and then divided into study group and control group by random number table method. The study group was given mere post mandible incision parotid gland tumor resection, and traditional surgery was used in control group. The 48 h wound drainage, the postoperative scar length, facial nerve dysfunction,Frey syndrome and postoperative recurrence of the two groups were compared. Results The amount of wound drainage of the study group was significantly less than the control group, postoperative scar length was significantly shorter than the control group( P 0. 01),Frey syndrome incidence was lower than the control group( P 0. 05),the incidence of facial nerve dysfunction and recurrence of the two groups had no statistically significant difference( P 0. 05). Conlusion Compared with traditional surgical method, the postoperative status of mere post mandible incision in lower parotid gland tumor resection is better, and the incidence of adverse reactions is lower.
