Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To focus on special physiological and pathological state of elderly population, and to promote rational drug use of aged group. METHODS:Based on 2 cases of irrational drug use in elderly patients, the changes in the physiological functions of the elderly and the safety of drug use were analyzed. RESULTS:Clinical pharmacists provided a reasonable suggestion and adjusted therapeutic regimen, and 2 patients were discharged from hospital ultimately. CONCLUSION:The special physiological and pathological state of the elderly will affect pharmacokinetic characteristics and pharmacodynamic changes, so clinical pharmacists should pay more attention to the characteristics of elderly population and provide physician a reasonable proposal.
