The curative effect of nerve block combined with local infiltration on the postherpetic neuralgia

Abstract
objective To investigate the curative effect of nerve block combined with local infiltration on the postherpetic neuralgia.Methods 57 patients with aching time over 3 monthes after acute posterior ganglionitis had skin destruction at head,thorax,limbs or pars sacralis.The patients were treated with nerve block combined with local infiltration at the skin destruction and the curative effect was assessed with visual analogue score(VAS) and sleep quality score(QS).Results At the 1th～4th weeks post-therapy,the scores of VAS and QS were decreased significantly compared with those of pre-therapy(P0.01).Curative rate and total effective rate were 87.7% and 100% respectively in combining therapy.Conclusion The combining nerve block and local infiltration can release rapidly postherpetic neuralgia,improve sleep quality with few side effects.
