Abstract

Objective To observe the application ofpeak flow meterin childrenwithmild tomoderateasthmaunder5 yearsold. Methods 50 patients with mild to moderate asthma in 3-5 years old children carried out by conventional inhaled corticosteroid(ICS) or inhaled corticosteroid(ICS) combined long-acting β2-agonist(LABA) treatment for 3 months, the course of treatment using peak expiratory flow meter to monitor changes in children with the disease.Children with peak expiratory flow values and clinical control of any change in circumstances after the treatment were observed. The value of peak flow meter in children with mild to moderate persistent asthma clinical monitoring under 5 years old. Results After 3 months treatment, children with daytime symptoms, activity limitation level, night symptoms/choke awake to ease the situation of drug treatment all improved, while the value of peak expiratory flow(PEF) increased significantly compared with those before the treatment(P 0.05).Conclusion Peak expiratory flow meter for the monitor of asthmatic disease of 35 years old children provides a possibility.
