Abstract

Objective To design a pathological tissue section staining apparatus, and improve the speed and quality of hematoxylin-eosin staining of tissue slices. Methods A constant temperature staining machine for histological section was designed and produced, which was composed of 3 parts that included water bath box, staining jars with covers and electric control box. Then the miscible rate of paraffin film in xylene and staining effect on paraffin-embedded tissue sections were compared. Results The striping time of paraffin film in xylene was reduced by nearly half at 37 ℃ than that at room temperature, and there was a statistically significant difference between the 2 groups(P 0.001).The staining effect on tissue slices at 37 ℃ with 1/2 routine time was comparable with stained traditional procedure, and the tiny particles was clearly observed. Conclusion It is demonstrated the tissue section staining effect by the equipment is better than that by the traditional method at room temperature.
