Abstract

Objective Methods To evaluate the clinical value of the levels of serum cystatin C(CysC) and high sensitive Creactive(hs-CRP) protein in diagnosing Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) patients with early renal injury. Methods According to the renal function indice(including creatinine and blood urea nitrogen),60 patients with T2DM were divided into two groups : the normal renal function group(n=30)and the abnormal renal functlon group(n=30).Another 30 health people served as the control group. The levels of serum Cys C and hs-CRP were examined. Results The levels of serum Cys C and hs-CRP in patients with T2DM were significantly higher than those in the control group(P0.01),while the levels of serum Cys C and hs-CRP in abnormal renal function group also significantly higher than those in the normal renal function group(P0.01).The level of serum CysC was positively correlated with the level of hs-CRP(r=0.39)in T2DM patients. Conclusion CysC and hs-CRP may be used as sensitive indexes of diagnosing early renal injury in type 2 diabetes mellitus.Combined examination can have more practical value.
