Expression and significance of C-erbB-2, P53, ER and PR in breast carcinoma

Abstract

Objective: To study the expression of C-erbB-2,P53,ER and PR and discuss their relationship and clinical significance in breast carcinoma.Methods: The expression of C-erbB-2,P53,ER and PR protein were detected in 54 cases of breast carcinoma with immunohistochemical S-P technique.Results: in 54 cases of breast carcinoma the positive rates of C-erbB-2:87.0%(47/54),P53:83.3%(45/54),ER:66.7%(36/54) and PR:61.1%(33/54),respectively.There existed correlation between the positive expressions of C-erbB-2 and P53 with clinical stages and lymphatic metastasis(P0.05).There was no correlation between the positive expressions of C-erbB-2,P53,ER and PR with the measurements of the tumor(P0.05).Conclusion: Gene expressions of C-erbB-2,P53,ER and PR possess the practical value in determining prognosis and endocrinotherapy.
