Abstract
Dialdehyde starch (DAS) was prepared by the oxidization of corn starch with sodium periodate. The parameters that affect the dialdehyde content of DAS,i.e.,pH,mole ratio of sodium periodate to corn starch, sodium periodate concentration (C),reaction temperature(T),reaction time(t) and the way of adding periodate, were investigated respectively. The optimal conditions are as follows: pH =1.2~1.5,n(NaIO4)∶n(Starch) =1.1∶1,C = 0.5 mol/L,T = 33~40℃,t =3h and adding starch into NaIO4 solution, under which the DAS with high dialdehyde content could be obtained.
