Abstract

Oxidized starch was a kind of modified starch and was used in many fields. The comparison between the oxidation of starch by sodium hypochlorite and potassium permanganate was discussed. The effects of some factors such as reaction time, amount of oxidant,pH,reaction temperature were investigated. The experimental results showed that the optimum experimental conditions were pH 9.0,amount of oxidant 25% of starch, reacting temperature 45 ℃,and reaction time 3 h.
