The Factors and Nursing of Ventilator - associated Pneumonia

Objective To understand the diagnostic criteria of ventilator- associated pneumonia,and the factors to cause the ventilator - associated pneumonia and the prevention or nursing measures. Methods 70 patients in the ICU were all given mechanical ventilation, other measures like reviewing references, correct management of airway, using antibiotic and nutrition resonably. Results A-mong 70 cases, none became worse and delayed treatment due to ventilator - associated pneumonia except for primary diseases. Instead, the timely preventive nursing helped the patients to get rid of the ventilator as soon as possible, shorten the hospitalization, relieve the patients' economic burden. Conclusion Correct nursing of airway, reasonable use of antibiotic and good diet nursing can reduce the incidence of ventilator - associated pneumonia.
