Inspiration of sustainable water policies in Australia to water resources management in China

The sustainable water policies and measures in Australia are introduced.The policies of the water resources management both in Australia and China are compared and analyzed.By means of the successful experience in the water resources management in Australia,some measures and suggestions are proposed to mitigate the water resources crisis in China: from the perspectives of target,system and technology,the current situation of water resources shortage should be improved,the water resources management institutions at nationwide and basin levels should be established,the legislation work for water resources should be strengthened,the water price formation mechanism and management system in accordance with the social market economy system of China should be formulated,and the reform of water price should be promoted.
