Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effects of irbesartan on left ventricle 0.1%procaine hydrochloride in normal saline 0.1%hypertrophy (LVH)in patients with essential hypertension. Methods A total of 60 left ventricle hypertrophy in patients with essential hypertension patients were randomly divided into irbesartan group(30 cases,150 mg/d)and benazepril group(30 cases,10 mg/d).6 months was a course of treatment.Blood pressure was measured;LVDD,LVST,LVPWT and LVMI were examined before and after treatment. Results 6 months after treatment, blood pressure decreased compared with that before the treatment(P0.05).Values of LVDD,LVST,LVPWT and LVMI were found significantly changed compared with values before the treatment(P0.05).Blood pressure,LVDD,LVST,LVPWT and LVMI in irbesartan group were slightly decreased than those in benazepril group (P0.05).Adverse reaction were rarely found in both groups. Conclusion Irbesartan a can effectively decrease blood pressure on left ventricle hypertrophy in patients with essential hypertension with few adverse reaction.
