An Evaluation on Regional Economic Development Efficiency in China——Based on DEA and Malmquist Index

Based on the relevant data,first of all,the paper makes a static evaluation on the economic development efficiencyof 30 provinces in China in 2012 by using DEA method,secondly,it carries out a dynamic analysis on the economic develop-ment efficiency of these provinces during the year of 2008 to 2012 by applying Malmquist total factor productivity index,thus,it gains the changes of China's economic development efficiency based on dynamic time series. The results show that the pres-ent situation of input allocation is not reasonable in most provinces from the perspective of static time,which results in the low-er economic development efficiency. In addition,the study also indicates that the main factor affecting China's economic devel-opment is technical efficiency according to the analysis on goodness of fit in the relations among technical efficiency,the com-prehensive efficiency and scale efficiency. The technical efficiency of China's regional economic development grows rapidly dur-ing the year of 2008 to 2012 from the angle of dynamic time. Therefore,we should attach great importance to technological in-novation and promote economic development efficiency.
