Investigation and Analysis of the Living Conditions of the Rural Elderly in Northern Jiangsu——Taking Z County of Huaian as an Example

Through the investigation of the living conditions of the rural elderly in northern Jiangsu, it has been found that they have financial difficulties and receive limited support from the children, that their health status is not optimistic, chronic disease, long illness without treatment, etc., and that they have little interaction with their children and lack emotional support. Because in most rural areas in China the social pension system has not been established, the family old-age support is still a major way of the old-age pension in rural areas. Therefore, advocating filial piety, displaying traditional cultural value of filial piety, and strengthening the children's responsibility for their parents will help to improve the living status and conditions of the elderly in rural areas.
