Problems and protection countermeasures of grassland ecology in Uygur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang

The main problems of the grassland ecology in Uygur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang were introduced. The causes of the ecological deterioration of the grasslands were analyzed. The corresponding countermeasures were put forward as follows: (1) the establishment of water conservancy of the pastoral areas with the irrigative breeding forage land as the main content; (2) the implementation of the integrated water resources management including total amount control, quota management and ecological water utilization; (3) the strengthening of construction management of grasslands and the rational cultivation; (4) the adoption of policy safeguard countermeasures.
