On the Poetical Feature of the Ancient Chinese Language and the Literary Feature of the Ancient Chinese Literature ——In the Case of the Translation of Guanju into Modern Chinese

Abstract

literature is an art of language.The ancient Chinese literature means the art of the ancient Chinese.There is a deep relation between the literariness of the ancient Chinese literature and poetryof the ancient Chinese,however,which has not been concerned enough in our studies.It will contain the misreading of poetry in the process of translating the ancient literature works into the modern Chinese.The literary value of lies in the concrete language.Changing the linguistic form is just the changing of literariness.So the poem of Guan can be not translated,which displays three aspects:the first is that Guanju may be interpreted in many kinds of ways;the translating clears up its complexity,ambiguity and openness;the second is the linguistic form of Guanju is untranslatable;the third is the artistic conception of Guanju.The reality of the translating can't afford examining further in the theory.The translating in essence is a kind of misreading and appreciation of the original text.This paper discusses why the Guanju can't be translated and examine furtherthe languagein Chinese ancient literature.
