Abstract
Based on paraffin wax as a solid-liquid phase change material(PCM) having the disadvantages of small thermal conductivity and bad performance of heat transfer,nano-copper/paraffin wax composite phase change materials were prepared by two steps and their thermophysical properties were measured. The DSC results reveal that the melting and solidification latent heats of NC-PCM shift to lower values compared with those of pure paraffia The melting and freezing temperatures are almost the same as pure paraffia The addition of nano-copper powder improves the thermal conductivity of paraffin wax phase change material effectively, and the NC-PCM has a good energy storage characteristic.
