Abstract

By analyzing DXF file data format and application features,an interface program was developed under Visual C+ + to obtain graphic information from CAD drawing and then to convert them into coordinates data.In the post processing module, based on the design method of sort-by-insertion,obtained data were processed by fitting using line segment to optimize the tool path.Combining CNC machining technology, the data were converted to CNC instruction codes accepted by machine tools in order to create a CNC program. The optimized tool path effectively reduces the times of knives in the ups and downs. It provides a feasible and effective measure for following development of the CAM software.
