Abstract

Objective To study the effect of Seed Oil of Punica gramatum L.on Blood-lipid in Hyperlipidemia Rats. Methods Fifty male SD rats were randomly devided into 5 groups by body weight:control group, high fat diets model group, high fat diets with seed oil of Punica gramatum L high、middle and low dose. Results After four weeks, the level of serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) and arteriosclerosis index(AI) of high-fat diet model group were all higher than the control group(P0.05 or P0.01),while high density lipoprotein(HDL-C)level was lower than the control group(P0.05 or P0.01).The content of serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) and arteriosclerosis index(AI) in Punica gramatum L.seed oil group were all lower than that of the high-fat diet group(P0.05 or P0.01).While the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) were higher than that of the control control group(P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusions Seed oil of Punica gramatum L.has significant inhibiting effect on the increase of serum lipids level in high-fat diets rats.
