Abstract

Essential oil was extracted from aril of Torreya grandis cv.Merrillii by two methods of supercritical carbon dioxide and steam distillation extraction. The chemical compositions of the essential oil extracted were analyzed and compared by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).58 kinds of components were isolated in essential oil by supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, mainly containing macromolecular fragrance ingredients and non-volatile components.62 kinds of components were separated in essential oil extracted by steam distillation, dominated by volatile compounds.11 components of essential oil in the two extractions were the same, with α-pinene and limonene as the major volatile compounds.
